Sinterklaas Weekend Tips

One more night to sleep, then it is that time again. Sinterklaas comes to the country. The national entry this year is in Meppel but of course he will also stop by in the Westland/Den haag region.

Sinterklaas will arrive next Saturday. This time in Meppel. The TV broadcast starts at 12.00 o’clock on NPO 3. Bak kruidnotenjes there and see if it goes well this time with Huispiet and Hoofdpiet.
If you want to see the best man in real life but do not want to drive all the way to Meppel? Then of course you can go over in the neighborhood. Hoek van Holland always has a very nice and complete program around the entry.

Saturday you can wake up at 13.00 o’clock ended up in the Berghaven where Saint and his Pieten around 13.30 o’clock sailing into the harbor. Then there is a whole program on the Brinkplein with Sinterklaas.
Want both? Seeing Saint Nicholas on TV and in real life? Then make sure you have Saturday around 10.00 o’clock at the Stadhuiskade in Maassluis. The Saint arrives here with the parcel boat and there is always a whole show made of it.

Very nice. After arrival the Saint and his entourage go through the center of Maassluis. After this excitement you can crawl home warm in front of the TV. I think we will go for this option.

And then ’of course we all put our shoes in the evening!

Wake up Sinterklaas

If you still haven’t had enough after all this Sinterklaas violence, you can visit Kijkduin on Sunday 15 November. The best man spent his first night on Dutch soil at the NH Atlantic Hotel and you can go wake him up. From 9 am children and their parents can come to the hotel at the Deltaplein for a nice breakfast. Sinterklaas sleeps off his intoxication then. At 10.15 o’clock all the children will wake up Sinterklaas.
