The art of doing, in the Doing Museum in Veendam|Win promotion closed

In the May vacations I was with the boys in the Doe museum in Veendam. We often go to the museum, but being as active as you are in this museum was new to us. It was so cool, I would recommend anyone with children to go here once. Now Veendam is near Groningen and for us this was a bit of a drive, but it was well worth it. And when the boys asked if we were going again the following day, I knew we would definitely be seeing this museum more often. Do Museum

The Do Museum is exactly what the name says: a museum where you can look at art and do all sorts of things! Explore the exhibits, get creative and play. You’re never too old for that! In the museum you can see and do. When you enter, you see around you various LEGO and Bricks structures. You can also see art exhibits right away. The boys were immediately drawn to the large LEGO building area. There are so many blocks here, selected by color, that even the boys were staring open-mouthed. And while I took a quick look around the museum, they started building.

Painting

There was a table reserved for us, where the boys first decorated a delicious cupcake and then we walked to the painting and clay room upstairs in the museum. Here they went to make their own painting. This was done with chalk paint. Powder they made with water and could mix to any color they wanted. She painted a lot. True artists they were. In addition to painting, you can also clay at the special table in this room. And while the paintings were drying, we had a quiet lunch in the central space.

Toddler and preschool fun

The youngest visitors have also been thought of. They have their own corner in the museum where they can ride the wooden train, Dublo, a walker or a mini Pony Cycle. They could run Lego trains and look at all the beautiful structures on display.

Besides painting, kids can dress up, play in the ball pit, draw creatively, spray graffiti and so much more. In the vacations there are often extra’s, please check the site of the Doe museum .

Besides doing in the museum there is also a lot to see. There are treasure hunts that take you past the many paintings. There are exhibitions, you can watch Groninger film stories in the film room. There is a permanent exhibit of Bricksart and so much more, but you’ll have to go see that for yourselves.
