On Instagram a while ago I asked who had some great webshop tips for me. I got some nice tips including the webshop that is in the spotlight today. MommyCard.nl is a cool webshop by graphic designer Tanya.

Bblogt loves webshops

After I received several nice tips, I went poking around in the webshops. MommyCard.nl immediately caught my attention because of the scratch cards she sells. With these cards you can tell in a playful way that you are pregnant.

I think it is a brilliant idea so you really have to see this one. After some further browsing it appears that owner Tanya designs very nice birth announcement cards. Totally in the style of today and customization is also possible. It made me happy so I thought it was time to share this shop with you.

Tell us something about the origin of your webshop
“I have always been creative. As a little girl I was always drawing and doing crafts. After high school the most logical step was to go to graphic design school.

After that I started working as a graphic designer. After the birth of my first daughter I wanted to be at home and watch her grow up. I then took the bold step and chose to be at home with my daughter. Yet I wanted to stay busy and took the step to start my own business. It started with a small graphic design studio and birth cards.

But I can't sit still and always have new ideas and so in addition to the birth cards (custom) I have now designed many more items such as the milestone cards (baby & pregnant), the maternity visiting cards, the pee and poop poster for potty training and of course the scratch cards to tell family and friends that you are expecting. These are an unexpected big hit ;-)!”

Where does the name Mamakaart come from?
“I am a mom and I design (o.a.) cards. I found it appropriate and good fit with the industry in which I work.”

What fun things can we all shop at your shop?
“Besides birth announcement cards from the standard collection you can also contact me for custom made cards. Have something special in mind, but can't find it anywhere? Then MamaMaart.en make it! My first product after the birth cards were the milestone cards.

These are for the pregnancy. To capture the growth of your belly or the special moments of a 20 weeks ultrasound or the first clothes. They are also there for the first year of the little one's life. The million postcards are still the best selling product in the shop.

But new and totally unique are the scratch cards. You can use them to tell someone that they are going to be a grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, godfather or godmother. You give the card and then it's wait and see and enjoy the reaction people will have when they have scratched open the box. The Birth announcement cards are fun to have your baby visitors fill out. But also for bigger kids, the reward poster poops and pee is really fun to use during potty training.

This is just a sample of the assortment. We keep expanding the assortment.”

Where do you get your inspiration from?
“From my own experiences as a mother and my own kids. I have 2 beautiful daughters Saar (4) and Tess (1). But also from what I see happening around me in terms of current trends and products. I always try to come up with fun, new ideas.”

Do you have a personal favorite? Something we can't miss?
“That is a tricky one. The milestone cards are the product with which the step towards a more extensive webshop has been made. So this is a little “baby” from my webshop.

But I am very proud of how the scratch cards are catching on. This is really something “I have not seen anywhere else. And so completely “from me” is.”

What is your ultimate dream as far as MamaCard is concerned?
“I hope we will grow even more and may we become a household name in the big world of baby and children's products. I especially enjoy doing this work. I really enjoy it and hope to continue for a long time to come.”
